"Thanks to Intermittent Fasting (or IF for short), in 3 months I’ve dropped 40 pounds, 5.5% in body fat. These results are entirely as a result of IF as I was not losing any weight with just doing Crossfit.
When I hit 45 I decided to lose weight get back into shape, so I started the Ideal Protein diet and lost 65lbs. I started Crossfit and began to feel better. The problem arose when I went off the Ideal Protein diet, it is hard to stay on such diets with kids running the house. So I gained a good portion of the weight back even though I was working out 6 days a week.
I tried everything from Keto/RP to going to the gym 4–5x a week to weekly meal prep. While I did see some results, I eventually couldn’t keep up with it and then yo-yo’d. IF has been the simplest and most manageable way I have found to improve my health (and stick with it).
I started doing 16/8 with IF and now stick with 18/6 most of the time. Unless there is a special event (wedding, birthday) I don’t take any time off from it. It has just become a way of life for me. The best part of IF is that I can still eat what I like, “delay don’t deprive”
